Why the Old Mass?

Our Lady of Perpetual Help

Our Lady of
Perpetual Help Chapel
St. Paul the Apostle Church
13th and Hutton Streets, Troy, New York

"Adoration is recognizing that Jesus is my Lord, that Jesus shows me the way to take, and that I will live well only if I know the road that Jesus points out and follow the path he shows me.

"Therefore, adoration means saying: 'Jesus, I am yours. I will follow you in my life, I never want to lose this friendship, this communion with you." I could also say that adoration is essentially an embrace with Jesus in which I say to him: "I am yours, and I ask you, please stay with me always.'"

                                                                           --Pope Benedict XVI

Monstrance

  Adorers Needed  . . .
  and Always Welcome!

Our Chapel, the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Adoration Chapel, is located in the basement of St. Paul's church-entrance off the parking lot on 13th Street. Our Chapel is air-conditioned.

Since September 8, 1983, St. Paul's has provided a home for the only chapel of Perpetual Adoration in our diocese. It is open 24-hours a day. We are always looking for new Adorers.

Each Adorer is assigned a regularly scheduled time slot (one-hour duration). We need Adorers who can substitute for those who might have to miss their assigned hour.

Call Kathy Curtin (518-274-5925) or Marylin Casey (518-271-6632).

Perpetual Adoration marked its 20th Anniversary on September 8, 2003

Adoro te devote,
latens Deitas,
quae sub his
figuris vere latitas.
 I adore you devoutly,
 O Godhead unseen,
 who truly lie hidden
 under these appearances.
